The former Archbishop of Canterbury, the Right Reverend and Right Honourable Justin Welby, is set to deliver a public lecture on Inter-ethnic and Religious Harmony at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaira.

This is contained in a statement issued on Monday in Zaria by the Director of the Public Affairs Directorate of the university, Malam Auwalu Umar.

The statement said the lecture forms part of the activities lined up for the university’s 45th Convocation Ceremony.

It added that the lecture, titled ‘Building Inter-Ethnic and Religious Harmony in Nigeria: Pathways to National Unity’, would hold on Jan. 29.

The statement said that dignitaries expected at the one-day event include former Nigerian leaders, ministers, governors, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and representatives of socio-cultural organisations.

It said the public lecture will take place at 10.00 am at Abdullahi Mahadi Conference Centre, Main Campus of the university, Samaru, Zaria.

According to him, Welby served as the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury from 2013 until his resignation in 2024 and was the spiritual leader of the Anglican Communion worldwide.
