A new radio station in Kano, Nasara Radio 98.5FM has appointed a famous broadcaster and former BBC Hausa veteran Dr Maude Rabi’u Gwadabe as General Manager.
Solacebase gathered that the new radio station initiated by former Kano state governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso been granted approval by the National Broadcasting Corporation to start test transmission this.
This was contained in a statement issued by the station’s project coordinator and secretary of the technical implementation committee Alh. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Monday.
Solacebase reports that Dr Maude Rabi’u Gwadabe had a stint at Triumph Newspaper publishing in Kano, Freedom Radio 99.5FM, BBC Hausa Service and Bayero University, Kano as a lecturer.
Maude voluntarily, resigned his appointment in 2019 at Bayero University, Kano to establish an online newspaper, Kano Focus. He has served as media consultants to so many organisations. Until his appointment on Monday, he was the publisher of the online newspaper.
The statement said Nasara Radio is designed to promote and protect a responsible society through innovative programmes and news content with a high value of objectivity, fairness and timeliness.
The statement enjoined all other Radio stations in Kano to maintain healthy competition and strict adherence to the professional code of ethics in the broadcast industry.
