“I like peace, and I don’t want any problem with anybody, even the opposition party members. I have never fought with anybody. I heard so many things happening, but I never said anything because, as a leader, if I say a word, it will become something else and influence people,” said Rurum.

“But I want to tell the general public that for the first time, I am not in support of dissolving all the four created emirate councils in the state. I am in support of my emirate, which is the Rano Emirate.”

“Rano Emirate is a first-class emirate. Nobody will come and tell me we are a second-class emirate. This is not possible. We are a first-class emirate. You may call it second-class if you like, but we, the people of Rano Emirate, see our emirate as first-class. Rano Emirate belongs to Autan Bawo. It has a good history in Hausa land, and we are proud of our history. Although we may have enemies within our emirate, they will not succeed.”

“This is my opinion, and I will never change it. Nobody can persuade me to change my opinion. I am ready to accept any consequences that may result from this.”

“Kano government did something that we are not happy with, which is dissolving the Rano Emirate, and we don’t support it. In my opinion, Rano Emirate is first-class, with ten local governments under it. The Rano Emirate comprises ten local governments: Rano, Kibiya, Bunkure, Kura, Tudun Wada, Doguwa, Sumaila, Takai, Garun Malam, and Bebeji.”

“Anybody who wants to end our first-class emirate, we pray to Almighty Allah to destroy him. Insha Allah, Kano South will succeed, and we will have our new state, which is Tiga State.”

“As I said earlier since this crisis of the emirate started, I never said anything. This is the first time I broke the silence, and you heard my opinion.”
