Exam Malpractice: BUK expels 60 students

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has expelled 60 students for alleged examination malpractices.

The university announced the expulsion in its weekly bulletin, published on Friday, January 16th, 2026.

According to the publication, the decision was taken at the 431st meeting of the university senate held on 7 January, following recommendations by the appropriate academic and disciplinary committees.

The university’s senate said the affected students were found wanting of various forms of examination misconduct and were consequently recommended for expulsion in line with the university’s extant regulations. Similarly, thirteen students were also rusticated.
