Fire destroys Canadian embassy building in Abuja

The Canadian High Commission building in Nigeria was engulfed in flames on Monday.

The commission’s building on Diplomatic Drive in the Central Business District was on fire for several minutes.

The Head of Operations of the FCT Fire Service, Amiola Adebayo, told journalists that two people were fatally injured in the incident, while about three or four other victims had been rushed to the hospitals.

“Yes, yes, it’s true. We have two fatally injured and the others in the hospital, either three or four,” he said.

He added that the situation has been successfully controlled.

Although the cause of the fire remains unknown, but the police and sister agencies are working to unravel the cause of the incident.
