Senator Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South) has been sacked as the Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate by the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the letter written to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio by National Chairman, Alhaji Umar Ganduje and the National Secretary, Senator Suŕajueen Basiru, Ndume has also been asked to resign from the ruling party and join either the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, or any of the opposition party.

The party has also replaced him with Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno (APC, Borno North).

The request was put to voice votes by Akpabio, and loudly affirmed by all the APC Senators.
