Former Niger state gov urges support for Mokwa flood victims

Former Governor of Niger State, Col. Lawan Gwadabe (Rtd) has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating flood that has ravaged Mokwa Local Government Area, calling for immediate support and solidarity with the affected communities.

In a statement personally signed and issued on Thursday, Gwadabe extended his condolences to the Government and people of Niger State, especially those directly impacted by the flood.

“The loss of lives, property, and livelihoods is a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of our environment and the need for collective action to mitigate the impact of such disasters,” he said.

He urged the state government to hasten the provision of relief materials and shelter for the affected families and called on well-meaning individuals, philanthropists, and organizations to join in supporting those affected.

“Together, we can make a difference and help our people recover from this tragedy,” he stated, while praying for the strength to overcome the challenge and for the souls of the departed to rest in peace.
