Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has formally resigned his membership of the party.

Ologbondiyan made the announcement in a statement posted on X on Saturday, accompanied by a letter dated December 5, 2025, which he addressed to the Chairman of Okekoko Ward (09), Kabba/Bunu Local Government, Kogi State.

In the letter titled ‘Notification of Membership Withdrawal’, the former PDP spokesperson stated that after a personal review of his participation in the PDP, he had concluded that it was time to exit the party.

“I have therefore come to a decision to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP, henceforth,” the letter read.

Ologbodiyan expressed appreciation to the party’s leadership for the opportunity to serve.

“Let me start by thanking you, as well as other levels of leadership in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for the opportunities provided for me to serve the party as well as our fatherland, Nigeria,” he wrote.

His resignation adds to the wave of high-profile exits that have rocked the PDP in 2025, one of the most intense years for the opposition party since its formation.
