FRCN listeners urge government to ensure stable electricity supply for Kaduna station

Some listeners of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) have urged the Federal Government to prioritise the sustainability of the radio station in Kaduna State. 

A cross section of FRCN listeners who spoke to journalists in Kaduna on Saturday also expressed disappointment over incessant power disconnections of the station by Kaduna Electric Distribution Company.

One of the listener, Musa Mohammed Kawo said  the radio station has paid its due in view of its contribution to unity and religious harmony of the country. He, however, said lack of electricity supply in the station would hinder its from enlightening and educating the citizens on government policies and programmes.

Another listener, Abdullahi Zaria who commended the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris  said a lot still needs to be done to address the problem.

Similarly, another listener – Bello Soba said he was surprised to tune in to the station today to find it off air because of disconnections by KEDCO. He  called on the authorities concerned to take decisive actions against the ugly occurrence.

SolaceBase understands that this is the fifth time the station is being disconnected over inability to pay its electricity bill in the last one year.
