‘’With the matriculation exercise today, the students have entered into a contractual agreement with the university as full-fledged students with rights, privileges and obligations attached to their new status, ‘’Prof Abdulkarim said.

SolaceBase reports that the VC, while congratulating the new students, urged them to take their studies seriously because they are just among the lucky few to get admission in a competitive admission process, adding that they should avoid vices like examination malpractices, cultism, drug abuse, fighting and stealing among others.

He charged them to channel their complaints to the Student Union Government or Dean of Students Affairs because the university frown at students taking laws into their hands, adding that the new students should familiarize themselves with the students’ handbook, which contains all the rules and regulations of the university.

He emphasized the need to adhere to the dress code of the university to avoid unnecessary embarrassment.

Professor Abdulkarim said the university has graduated nine sets of students, most of whom are doing well all over the world.
