FUK to unveil book celebrating Umaru Pate’s leadership legacy
The Federal University of Kashere (FUK) in Gombe State has announced plans for a book launch in honour of its immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Umaru A. Pate, in recognition of his contributions to leadership, knowledge development and institutional transformation.
SolaceBase reports that the event, scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2026, will take place at the Idris Abdulkadir Auditorium, National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja at 10:00 a.m.
The book, titled ‘’An Icon of Visionary Leadership, Knowledge, Transformation and Impactful Change, highlights the legacy and achievements of Prof. Pate, who also holds the traditional title of Kaigama of Adamawa.

Prof. Umaru Pate was appointed as the 3rd Vice Chancellor of the University on 11th February, 2021 and successfully completed his tenure February, 2026.

According to the organisers, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. William O. Olu-Aderounmu, will lead proceedings at the event.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Mohammed Inuwa Ja’afaru, is expected to serve as Chief Host.
The event will be chaired by Sen. Muhammadu Danjuma Goje, who represents Gombe Central Senatorial District and holds the traditional title of Sarkin Yakin Gombe.

Organisers said the book launch is intended to celebrate Prof. Pate’s tenure, which they described as marked by visionary leadership and impactful reforms that strengthened the university’s academic and institutional profile.
