Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Thursday inaugurated the Kano State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council.
Ganduje at the occasion reemphasized that Kano would continue to be an APC State.
Inaugurating the council alongside the various committees under the council, Ganduje, who is also the APC leader in the state, described the event as very important and historic.
He therefore urged members of the campaign council and those of the committees to justify the confidence reposed in them by working hard to ensure the victory of the APC in the forthcoming elections.
The governor then announced two new campaign initiatives which would enable the APC to achieve a resounding victory in the 2023 elections, that include members of the campaign council spending nights in some local areas of the state to engage the people with a view to winning their votes.

The other initiative, he said, was the establishment of a high-powered committee of women who would visit female voters in all the nooks and crannies of the state to sell the APC manifesto and programs to them in order to vote for the party during the elections.
He described the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and his running mate, Hon. Murtala Sule Garo, as a winning team that would coast to victory in the 2023 elections.
Earlier, Dr.Gawuna, who is also the Deputy Governor of the State, commended Governor Ganduje for providing good leadership for the people of the state as well as for those who worked with him in government, over the years.
He pledged his continued loyalty and that of his running mate, Murtala Sule Garo, to the Governor and also promised to consolidate on the good policies and programs of the Ganduje Administration if voted as the next Governor and Deputy Governor of the state.
In a remark, the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, expressed confidence in the ability of members of the campaign council to deliver the state to the party, come 2023 elections, citing their track records of performance.
Abbas also said that the APC would win all the elective positions in the state in the forthcoming elections because of the commendable performance of the Ganduje Administration, over the years.
Governor Ganduje is the Chairman of the campaign council, while Dr. Gawuna is the Deputy Chairman, and Hon. Murtala Garo is the Vice Chairman of the council.
