Group holds special prayer in Kano amidst hardship

A group of youths on Saturday held a special prayer session at the Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu Mosque in Kano, to appease God amidst hardship in the country.

The prayer session climaxed a ten-day nationwide protest tagged #endbadgovernance that started on August 1st and is expected to end today, August 10th.

According to a human rights organisation, Amnesty International, more than 21 persons were killed with over N500bn investment lost in the first two days of the protests.

SolaceBase gathered that residents from various locations in the Dala local government area convened around 10:00 AM to observe the prayer, seeking divine intervention for the nation’s challenges.

Speaking after the prayer session, Gwani Yusuf Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu emphasized prayer as the most effective solution to the country’s problems.

“The people gathered here are not affiliated with any organization. We are voluntarily seeking divine intervention. As you know, many people participated in nationwide demonstrations, but those protests have ended. We believe that complete submission to Allah is the best approach to overcoming our hardships,” he said.

“Before the prayer, we recited the Quran to seek blessings from God. In our prayers, we implored Allah to guide our leaders and expose those responsible for the suffering in our country.”
