A leading food and beverage manufacturing company, Halilco Foods, has officially commissioned its state-of-the-art Instant cocoa Production Line in Kano.
The event, held on Thursday, marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to providing high-quality, nutritious, and convenient food products to Nigerians.
Speaking at the commissioning in Kano, the Managing Director of Halilco Foods, Abbas Fadlallah, emphasized that the new facility represents a massive expansion of their previous production capacity.
According to him, the company previously produced 1,000 cartons of Instant cocoa per month, but with the new production line, output is expected to increase to 20,000 cartons monthly—an astonishing 500% increase.
He credited this achievement to the financial support and partnership of Propcom+, a development program focused on economic growth and sustainability.

In his remarks, the Political Director and Team Leader of PropCom Plus, Dr. Adiya Ode, described Halilco Foods as a “development champion” in agriculture, bio-fortification, and women’s empowerment.
He explained that their partnership began last year when Halilco Foods successfully applied for a grant through a competitive selection process.
He expressed satisfaction with the company’s performance and reaffirmed Propcom+’s commitment to supporting their expansion.
Representing the Kano State Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Yuhuza Shehu Aliyu, Director of Veterinary Services, conveyed the government’s appreciation for Halilco Foods’ investment.
He noted that the company’s expansion is a welcome development for the state, as it not only enhances food security but also creates job opportunities for Kano residents.
The commissioning of the new production line highlights Halilco Foods’ continued efforts to meet the growing demand for nutritious and convenient food options while strengthening local agricultural value chains.
With this expansion, Halilco Foods is set to solidify its position as a key player in Nigeria’s food manufacturing industry, contributing to economic growth and improved nutrition across the country.
