‘I won’t join any plot to discredit Senator Barau Jibrin’ – Dan Agundi

The Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, has rejected calls to join efforts aimed at discrediting the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, warning that he will publicly name anyone who persists.

Dan Agundi said those who approached him asked him to join a campaign against Senator Barau after the Senate step-down screening of the Chairmanship nomination of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) of Engr. Abdullahi Ramat.

This was contained in a statement issued by his media aide, Abubakar Balarabe Kofar Naisa, on Sunday.

‘’Supporters of Engr Ramat held a press conference on their grievances, and some reportedly sought Dan Agundi’s participation in what he described as an attempt to smear the senator’s reputation, the statement said.

A group led by one Alwan Hassan had pointed accusing fingers at the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin and Nasiru Gawuna for the delay in the screening.

He praised Senator Barau’s dignity, noting that he would not turn the senator into a target of abuse.

The DG added that Senator Barau was not to blame for the events that unfolded in the Senate chamber, based on information he later received.

Dan Agundi warned that if those who asked for his involvement continued to push the matter after he refused, he would reveal their names one after another.
