ICPC recovers constituency project vehicle , allegedly converted to personal use by Kano lawmaker

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) has recovered allegedly diverted constituency project vehicle converted to personal use by lawmaker representing Nasarawa federal constituency , in Kano State.

The Chief Assistant Superintendent, ICPC Kano Office, Bukar Galadima stated this while speaking  to Solacebase on Tuesday after the antigraft operatives tracked the diverted constituency project vehicle hidden at a location in the metropolis. .

Solacebase reports that  the ICPC constituency projects monitoring team leader said they discovered that the vehicle was sponsored by Lawmaker representing Nasarawa federal Constituency in the name of constituency projects for the use of his community but discovered to have allegedly converted it to his personal use.

He said the commission has confiscated the vehicle for further investigation.

‘’We discovered that about N13m was released to purchase the 2019 Ford pickup vehicle in the budget for constituency project vehicle, he added.’’

It could be recalled that recently ICPC inspected some of the constituency projects in Kano , in some local government areas that include ,Kiru ,Bebeji , Warawa , Dawakin Kudu ,Tarauni, Kano Municipal, and  Dala.

Others are Dawakin Tofa , Dambatta ,Bichi and Nasarawa to ensure  that the Appropriated fund is fully implemented as contemplated by law
