I’m not surprised Nigerians are celebrating my football career — Evelyn Ijeh
Evelyn Ijeh, daughter of former Nigerian striker, Peter Ijeh, has said she is not surprised Nigerians have been celebrating her football career.
Ijeh recently secured a permanent move to AC Milan after a successful loan spell from Mexican side Tigres UANL.

Her move to Milan saw Nigerians sending her congratulatory messages, a gesture which according to her did not come as a surprise.
“I’m not that surprised that Nigerians celebrate my progress, because I know how passionate we Nigerians can be,” Ijeh told SportsBoom.

“But at the end of the day, God is in control. I’m grateful for the love and support.”

Ijeh’s international career recently reached a new milestone when she was called up to the Swedish women’s senior national team in June.
“It’s always nice to progress after years with the youth squad, but that’s not all. The goal is to become the best I can be and to reach the highest level of playing,” she said.
On her dad’s influence, Ijeh said the former striker has played an important role in her career, from individual training to shaping her into the player that she is today.
