Isyaku Rabiu varsity inaugurates board members

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Kano has inaugurated its Board of Trustees members as the highest governing body of the University charged with the overall policy direction and financing of the university.

Appointed by the Proprietor, Muhammad Rabiu Islamic Foundation International, the members, 10 in number under the leadership of Professor Muhammad Sani Zahraddeen  shall hold office for five years in the first instance, renewable for another term of five years and no more.

SOLACEBASE reports that inaugurating the members, on Tuesday, Rabiu Isyaku Rabiu said, “any member appointed or selected by virtue of his office shall cease to be a member of the Board of Trustees if he ceases to occupy such an office and the Proprietor may remove a member of the Board of Trustees after a notice of three months.”

Rabiu added that in any circumstance where the Chairman is absent, he shall delegate his duty to any member of the Board in writing while the membership of the Board of Trustees as defined in the University Law shall consist of the Chairman, who shall be appointed by the Proprietor and shall be a person of proven integrity, and eight other members appointed by the Proprietor, representing a variety of interests, including at least one woman.

“The Board shall appoint its secretary and the quorum of the Board of Trustees shall be four including the Chairman.

“At the moment we are 99.5% ready, In Sha Allah we hope to start the process Admission in the few months, the management team and the vice chancellor have been recruited and they will be soon announced.”

Rabiu Isyaku Rabiu maintained that the university is very prepared both in Human and Financial, stressing that late Khalifah Isyaku Rabiu has provided all that is needed for the university for two years, with the aim of ensuring that the take-off of the university went smoothly.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration, the Chairman of the board, Professor Muhammad Sani Zahraddeen promised to work diligently and ensure that the confidence and trust bestowed on them never go in vain.

“For me, this is a legacy for Islam, Quran and education and we shall try our best to sustain it. I assure you by God’s willingness to discharge my duties to the best of my ability.”

He reassured the commitment of the members of the board would work assiduously in ensuring that the university achieved the greater heights.

Members of the University include Professor Mohammad Sani Zaharaddeen as Chairman, while members were professor Shehu Usman Abdullahi, Alhaji Nu’man Barau Danbatta, Professor Abubakar Mustapha, Alhaji Mannir Isyaku Rabiu, Dr Yusif Isyaku Rabiu, others were Alhaji Anwar Isyaku Rabiu, Dr Naja’atu Rabiu, Alhaji Rabiu Bala Rabi’u and Dr Zahara’u Muhammad Umar.
