JAMB offers Persons With Disabilities free UTME forms

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that persons with disabilities (PWDs) will receive free application documents for the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The announcement was contained in JAMB’s weekly bulletin, published on the board’s website on Monday.

The initiative, which is part of the Board’s inclusive education policy, will be implemented through the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG) for eligible candidates intending to sit for the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a meeting with critical stakeholders at the Board’s National Headquarters in Abuja.

He reiterated JAMB’s unwavering dedication to supporting candidates with disabilities and ensuring that no eligible candidate is denied access to higher education on account of physical or learning challenges.

According to the Registrar, beneficiaries of the free application documents include, but are not limited to, candidates living with Down Syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

“To support persons living with disabilities, JAMB will issue free application documents to all eligible candidates in this category.

However, such candidates must possess a minimum of five credit passes at the O’Level, obtained in not more than two sittings.”

He further disclosed that the Board would provide audiobooks for blind candidates to enhance accessibility and ease of learning.

The audiobooks, he explained, are digital adaptations of conventional printed materials and will be made available in widely compatible audio formats such as MP3, WMV and WMA.

Professor Oloyede emphasised that the initiative aligns with JAMB’s broader mandate of equity, fairness and inclusiveness in Nigeria’s admission process, assuring stakeholders of the Board’s continued commitment to the welfare and success of candidates with special needs.
