The immediate governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, and all members of the party on Wednesday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made on Wednesday in Asaba, the Delta State capital, by Senator James Manager, shortly after a high-level closed-door meeting held at the Government House in Asaba on Wednesday.

According to Manager, “All PDP members in the state, including the governor, former Governor Okowa, the Speaker, the state party chairman, all the local government chairmen and others, have agreed to move to the APC.

“We cannot continue to be in a sinking boat.”

SolaceBase had reported that Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, had earlier announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pitched his tent with the All Progressives Congress.
