JUST IN: Ganduje Confirms COVID-19 Case, Gives New Restriction Orders In Kano
Kano State Governor, Ddr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in the state.
The governor announced this on Saturday evening while announcing measures to curtails spread of the disease in Kano.
Ganduje said the index case is a former Ambassador and contact tracing has commenced.
‘’The index case is a 75-year-old retiree who recently came back from Lagos and Abuja,” said Ganduje’’
He noted that contact tracing has commenced as the index case was at Jumuat Mosque on Friday and attended a wedding program, hence those that had interaction with him are already being contacted for testing one after the other.

Solacebase reports that the governor also ordered tricycle riders not to carry more than one passenger in the town.
He emphasized the need for residents to observe Social distancing.
The governor emphasised that collaboration with clerics and market leaders would be intensified so as to educate the populace on the dreaded disease of COVID-19.
He urged the residents not to relent in prayers over the disease.
