The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct supplementary elections in Doguwa / Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, in Kano.
The Returning Officer for the federal Constituency elections held , on February 25, Professor Ibrahim Adamu Yakasai , announced this on Wednesday at the commission headquarters in Kano during a review results of the elections held in Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency.
SOLACEBASE had reported that INEC did not include the name of Alhassan Ado Doguwa, APC candidate in the race who scored the highest votes but rather indicated that declaration of result was done under duress.
Yakasai said the commission had review the initials results that was allegedly announced by him under duress.
He said that INEC in compliance with the provisions of the electoral act has reviewed the results
Announcing the reviewed results, Prof Yakasai stated that the reviewed elections results stands as follows, APC 39,732, NNPP 34, 798, PDP 7,091.

According to him , there were cancellation of results in 13 polling units.
He said the total number of votes domiciled in the polling units that were cancelled had submerge the margin of votes difference cast in favour of the candidates of APC and NNPP.
He explained that the total number of PVCs collected in the 13 polling units that were cancelled stood at 6,917 as against the over 4,000 votes margin between APC and NNPP.
He said INEC will conduct supplementary elections in the affected units to determine the winner of the February 25, Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency polls.
