The Kano state governorship candidate of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Abba Kabiru Yusuf is currently leading its All Progressives Congress (APC), rival Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna with over 60,000 votes.
At the state INEC collation centre, Abba has polled 832,690 votes while Nasir Gawuna of the ruling APC has secured 771,333 votes, leaving a margin of 61,357 votes.
