Chelsea was in contact with Juventus to explore a move for Turkish forward Kenan Yildiz, but their approach was rejected as contract talks continue.

Yildiz emerged as one of the brightest young stars last season, scoring four goals across 32 appearances, and was a core part of the Turkey squad at the recent European Championship.

The 19-year-old has three years left on his contract with Juventus, but talks are ongoing to set up a new long-term deal, which’ll secure him in Turin with a higher salary.

An offer of €1.2m net per season is on the table, but the youngster is holding out for a better offer from the club.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus believe in Yildiz and are planning to sit down again with his entourage in August to try and set up a new four or five-year contract.

The Blues are interested in snapping up the talented Turk this summer, but have been met by a brick wall.
