KACCIMA elects new executives

The Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) has elected new executives to steer the activities of the chamber going forward.

SOLACEBASE reports that the emergence of the new executive followed a court order that granted holding an extra-ordinary meeting (EGM) where the elected council members came up from a consensus.

The consensus was on the basis of a meeting with all parties present at the residence of the Grand Patron of KACCIMA, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.

Garba Imam is now the newly appointed president while his first Deputy is Garba Abdullahi Hungu, Dr Nuruddeen Abba Abdullahi will serve as Second Deputy while Engr, Dr Auwal Rabiu Dansharif will serve as Vice President, Commerce.

The position of Vice President, Industry goes to Sani Hussaini Saleh, Idris Muhammad, Vice President, Mines, Kamal Mustapha, Vice President, Agriculture, Hadi Imam, Vice President, Property while Abba Hikima will serve as Vice President, Corporate.

Others are Vice President, Publicity, Salihu Ibrahim, Dr Abbati Bako as Treasurer and Nura Habibu as Deputy Treasurer.

Shortly after the inauguration and swearing-in of the new officials, the Chairman of the Electoral College, Sarkin Shanun Kano, Alhaji Shehu Muhammad Dankadai thanked Almighty God for the historic moment while enjoining them to be good ambassadors of the Chamber for the benefit of moving the business community in the State forward.

The event was spearheaded by the. secretary of the Electoral College, Ahmad Rabiu who is the National Vice President, NACCIMA.

It could be recalled that an interim caretaker Committee had been saddled with the responsibility of overseeing the affairs of the chamber for about a year since the expiration of tenure of the last President, Abubakar Dalhatu.
