Kano: Commissioner inspects greenhouse, solarization project at Audu Bako College of Agriculture
Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to climate-smart agriculture and capacity building through the proposed greenhouse and solarization project at Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Danbatta.
This was disclosed in a statement signed and issued over the weekend by the Commissioner for Environment & Climate Change and Chairman of the State Steering Committee for Kano Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL), Dr. Dahir M. Hashim, following his visit to the institution.
Dr. Hashim inspected the project site at the college, one of the oldest agricultural institutions in the country.

He emphasized that the intervention under the Kano ACReSAL Project would strengthen the college’s training capacity, support climate-smart urban agriculture, and enhance revenue generation.
“I’m impressed by the condition of the existing greenhouse and believe that additional infrastructure will improve learning and productivity,” he said, adding that the government is committed to delivering a quality project.
The commissioner further stated that beneficiaries of agricultural empowerment programs under ACReSAL will receive training and certification from the college before implementing their projects.
“Together, we are building a more climate-resilient Kano State,” Dr. Hashim added.
