Kano govt donates fire-fighting trucks, other equipment worth over N237m to Kantin Kwari market

Kano State Government has supported the popular textile market in the state, Kantin Kwari, with fire fighting vehicles, CCTV Cameras, Street lighting and office furniture in it’s effort to further improve economic activities in the state.

The Managing Director of Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA), Arc. Sulaiman Ahmad Abdulwahab, announced this during the handing over of the equipment on Thursday, to the market leadership.

bdulWahab said that the equipment costs over N237 million.

According to him, the project initiated by KNUPDA through a public private partnership got approval of the Kano State Government, with a reputable company, RAZ Construction and Technical Company for its execution.

Abdulwahab represented by KNUPDA , Head of Engineering, Engr. Nurudeen Ahmad, appreciated the company for effective and timely execution of the project as well as ensuring that its handed over to the beneficiaries in due time.

He appealed to the beneficiaries to make better use of the equipment so as to protect lives and their investment.

On his part, Kantin Kwari Market Managing Director, Alhaji Abba Muhammad Bello appreciated the state government for the usual and timely support to the market.

Bello assured that the equipment which will go a long way in proving security for the market would be judiciously put to use.
