Kano govt orders release of funds for Kwankwaso’s stalled road projects in 44 LG

The Kano State Government, has ordered the immediate release of funds to contractors for the completion of the abandoned five-kilometre road projects across the 44 local government areas in the state.

Governor Abba Yusuf made the disclosure on Thursday, shortly after meeting with contractors handling the projects at the Government House.

He ordered the resolution of pending compensation issues and that the contractors go back to the sites within one week.

Ex-governor Rabiu Kwankwaso during his tenure initiated the 5 kilometres rural network road projects that were abandoned due to inexplicable reasons.

The non-completion of the roads attracted criticism and condemnation by the immediate past Abdullahi Ganduje-led administration.
