Kano: Police apprehend wife for killing of husband

Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with a culpable homicide case that occurred on Tuesday, 6th May, 2025, at about 12:35 am.

SolaceBase reports that the suspect, Saudat Jibril, an 18-year-old female of Farawa Quarters, allegedly cut off the throat of her husband, Salisu Idris, a 30-year-old male, with a sharp knife.

A statement issued by the Kano Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, swiftly deployed a team of detectives to the scene.

‘’The victim was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel,’’ the statement said.

‘’The suspect has been apprehended and is currently in custody at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Homicide Section and will be charged to court for offence of culpable homicide.

‘’The Commissioner of Police cautions that the Command will not tolerate any form of violence or criminality in the State and assures the public of its commitment to conducting thorough investigations to ensure justice is served.
