Kano politician dies during funeral of Dala LG ex-chair, Mahmoud Madakin Gini
Tragedy struck on Monday in Kano again as former Chairman of Wudil Local Government Council, Abubakar Abdullahi Likita, slumped and died during the funeral prayers of his close friend and political associate, former chairman of Dala Local Government Council, Mahmoud Sani Madakin Gini.
It was gathered that Likita collapsed while the Janazah (funeral prayer) for Madakin Gini was ongoing, causing shock and sorrow among mourners present. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead shortly after.

A close ally of the late politician, Abubakar Musa, confirmed to Solacebase that Likita’s funeral prayers will hold tomorrow, Tuesday, at 10:00 AM at his residence in Bompai, Kano.
It was gathered that late Abubakar Likita was in the same car with the former Kano State Governorship candidate in the 2023 election, Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, that conveyed them to the funeral prayer of Mahmood Sani Madakin Gin

Solacebase had earlier reported that the former chairman of Dala Local Government, Mahmood Sani Madakin Gini, died in a car crash along the Kaduna-Abuja highway on Monday.
The deaths of the two prominent grassroots politicians have cast a pall of mourning over the Kano political landscape, particularly among those who served during the Shekarau-led government.
