By Baba Aminu

The National Association of Government Secondary School Goron Dutse Old boys has lauded Kano state governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf for his decision to demolish the shops and buildings built in the school premises and its surroundings which the previous administration of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje conducted.

Before this time, the organization has condemned in totality the way previous government of Dr. Ganduje sold the premises of public schools to some unpatriotic merchants who are not interested in the development of education in the state.

The National body of the old boys expressed support for the demolition of the illegal structures around public schools in a statement on Sunday issued by its Public Relations Officer 1, Comrade Salisu Ismail Kabuga.

“We have been hoping for a long time that God will bring a government that will save the schools of the children of the poor, which the previous government colluded with businessmen who are not interested in education to destroy them,’’ the statement said.

‘’GSS Goron Dutse National spokesperson added that, “The previous government deceived the old students’ groups into selling the surrounding areas of the affected schools in order to improve the condition of the schools, and nothing has changed or improved in the development of education in our schools but worsened instead, hoping that, the condition of the schools will be improved under the leadership of the current governor of the state Engr. Kabir Yusuf.’’
