Kano: Security agents block access to Emir Bayero’s palace, arrest 17 thugs

Combined security agents have blocked access to Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano’s palace in Nasarawa, on Wednesday.

SolaceBase gathered that a viral video on Tuesday night claimed that some youths were planning to carry out the attack at Nasarawa emir’s palace early on Wednesday so as to evict the 15th emir of Kano.

In the video, supporters of the 15th emir of Kano were urged to also come out to protect the palace.

Credible sources told SolaceBase that some of the youths arrested were with dangerous weapons.

It was also observed that security has been beefed up around the Nasarawa emir’s palace and the busy state road has been reduced to one lane as security agents blocked the lane close to the Nasarawa palace.

A statement issued by Police Public Relations Officer, Kano Command SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said that adequate security measures have been put in place to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order in the State.

The statement said this follows credible intelligence reports of a planned violent protest by some individuals, the Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has deployed personnel and assets to strategic locations within Kano Metropolis to prevent the protest and ensure public safety.

According to the statement, as a result of these proactive measures, 17 suspected thugs have been arrested, and investigation is ongoing. The Command is committed to ensuring that the perpetrators of this planned violence are brought to justice.

‘’The Command wishes to warn all individuals and groups against engaging in any form of unlawful gathering, procession, or violence. Such actions will be met with swift and decisive response from the security agencies.
