Kano suspends two court registrars over alleged fraud
The Kano State Judicial Service Commission has suspended two Sharia Court registrars, Jamilu Ibrahim and Jamilu Ibrahim over alleged fraudulent deals.
A statement issued by Baba Jibo Ibrahim, Spokesman of Kano Judiciary, on Friday said the disciplinary actions was taken by the commission at its 75th meeting held on September 12th ,2024.
The statement read, ‘’sequel to the findings of the investigative committee set up by the JSC to investigate the petition against Jamilu Ibrahim and others, the investigation revealed that Jamilu Ibrahim along with a syndicate were found to have received illegal funds emanating from a writ of possession that was fraudulently obtained in order to sell two plots of land.
‘’The committee recommended that Jamilu Ibrahim should be dismissed from service, however, the Judicial Service Commission has suspended Jamilu Ibrahim indefinitely without pay pending the outcome of the trial he is facing before a Magistrate Court.

‘’Zubairu Sulaiman, Registrar of the Upper Sharia Court was found to have received one million naira into his personal account as a sales commission from the sale of the two plots of land. The Judicial Service Commission acting upon the recommendation of the investigative committee has suspended Zubairu Sulaiman for four months without pay.
The statement added that,’’ The Commission remains resolute in applying appropriate sanctions against any erring staff, particularly those entrusted with judicial responsibilities, to safeguard the integrity and accountability of the Judiciary and uphold public confidence.
