The Kanwan Katsina and District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara (mni), has expressed deep sorrow over the death of veteran journalist and Kano Punch correspondent, Mr. Ted Odogwu, describing his passing as a great loss to journalism and the nation at large.
In a condolence message personally signed by the traditional ruler on Monday, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara commiserated with the family of the deceased, the media fraternity, and the management of The Punch Newspapers over the painful loss.
He noted that Mr. Odogwu was a respected journalist whose pen spoke truth to power, and whose dedication to ethical reporting earned him admiration across the country.

“The news of the passing of Mr. Ted Odogwu came to me with great shock and sadness. He was not only a journalist but a voice of conscience and an embodiment of professionalism.
”Ted worked closely with me when I was Customs Area Controller for Kano and Jigawa States.”
”He supported the NCS activities very well during those periods.”
“His contributions to the media landscape will remain unforgettable,” the statement read.
SolaceBase reports that the Kanwan Katsina, a retired Controller of Nigerian Customs Service, prayed for the repose of Mr. Odogwu’s soul and asked Allah to grant his family, colleagues, and loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“May the Almighty comfort his family and reward his service to society with eternal peace,” he added.
