KHAIRUN mourns deceased Kano athletes, officials

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), has expressed condolences to the Kano State Government and the entire people of the state over the death of 22 members of the Kano contingents who died in a fatal accident while returning from the National Sports Festival held in Ogun State.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by KHAIRUN Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, on behalf of the university’s management.
“This is an immeasurable tragedy, not only for their families who have lost loved ones, but for our dear state and the entire nation.
“These athletes represented the pride, energy, and aspirations of a generation, and their untimely death is a sorrow we collectively bear.

SolaceBase reports, the incident occurred on Saturday around Kura Local Government Area of Kano State, claiming the lives of 22 members and injuring several others.
KHAIRUN also extended condolences to the families of the deceased. “We pray that their souls rest in Jannat al-Firdaus.”
