KHAIRUN student excels at Francophonie day celebration
A student of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) in Kano has brought pride to the institution following an outstanding performance at a recent Francophonie day celebration.
Aisha Sani Umar, a 300-level student in the Department of Radiography, Faculty of Allied and Medical Sciences, represented the university at the event held at Alliance Française in Kano.
International Francophonie Day is celebrated annually to honour the French language, cultural diversity, and solidarity among the over 369 million speakers worldwide. Established in 1970, it promotes values of peace, democracy, and education, often featuring cultural events, film screenings, and educational contests, particularly highlighting young people.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the University Ag. Director, Public Relations, Media and Internal Affairs, Jibril Ado Dandawaki.
According to the statement, her participation formed part of activities marking the global celebration of Francophone culture and language.
Displaying confidence and eloquence, Aisha delivered a presentation in fluent French, where she highlighted the range of science-based programmes offered at KHAIRUN.

She also underscored the institution’s distinctive academic advantage, noting that students are given the opportunity to study additional international languages, including Arabic and French, to enhance their global competitiveness.
Observers at the event commended her composure and articulation, describing her performance as both engaging and representative of academic excellence.
