Kogi: Police to strengthen collaboration with NBA to promote effective policing
The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has expressed readiness to collaborate and strengthen the relationship with the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Lokoja Branch, to promote justice, rule of law, and public safety through effective policing.
CP Kankarofi stated this on Wednesday when he received the executive members of the NBA.
This was contained in a statement issued by the command Public Relations Officer, CSP William Ovye Aya,
‘’The CP emphasized the importance of synergy between law enforcement and the legal community. He pledged to ensure transparency, professionalism, and collaboration with zero tolerance for police misconduct,’’ the statement said.

He further acknowledged the NBA’s crucial role in facilitating criminal justice administration and urged them to visit detention facilities to monitor conditions. He emphasized the need for information sharing and cooperation to prevent crime commission.
‘’In his remarks, the Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Lokoja Branch, AS Abbas Esq., commended the CP on the ongoing efforts in the fight against crime and criminality in the State.
He emphasized the significance of collaboration between the Police and the NBA. He urged cooperation between the Human Rights Committee of NBA and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across the command. He assured the NBA’s commitment to cooperate with the Police command to ensure smooth administration of justice.
According to the statement, the visit marked a significant step towards enhancing justice delivery and promoting a safer community in Kogi State.
