Kwankwaso announces Gwarzo as NDC governorship candidate, Gawuna gets Kano Central Senatorial ticket
Former Kano State Governor and national leader of the New Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has announced former Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Kano State.
Kwankwaso also unveiled former Deputy Governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, as the NDC candidate for Kano Central Senatorial District.
The announcement was made early hours of Friday at Kwankwaso’s residence in Kano shortly after a stakeholders’ critical meeting attended by party leaders and supporters.

Speaking during the meeting, Kwankwaso said the NDC would officially unveil candidates for various elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections today.
He expressed confidence in the party’s preparedness and urged members to remain united and committed towards ensuring victory at the polls.
