Kwara declares Monday work free day

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved Monday, October 6, 2025, as a public holiday for teachers in the state to mark World Teachers’ Day.

Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, who delivered the governor’s message, paid glowing tribute to teachers’ resilience, sacrifice and devotion.

He described them as critical stakeholders in advancing human progress and national development.

“Today, Kwara salutes their labour of love, for without teachers, no profession exists,” the commissioner declared in a statement released in Ilorin on Saturday.
