In a remarkable display of commitment and leadership to combat the effects of climate change and instill a culture of environmental sustainability, Kano state Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has spearheaded a series of tree-planting campaigns throughout his first year in office.

With a bold vision to plant 3 million trees during his first tenure in office, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s dedication to environmental friendliness is evident in his hands-on approach to conservation efforts.

With his Participation in four distinct tree-planting campaigns at different times within just one year, Governor Yusuf has set a precedent for proactive environmental leadership.

His initiatives are not only aimed at increasing green cover and shelter beds in Kano state but also serve as a tangible step towards mitigating the adverse effects of general climate change.

Through rigorous drainage clearance efforts during his first year of stewardship in Kano, his administration successfully minimized the impact of flooding during last year’s rainy season, safeguarding Kano City and several surrounding communities and infrastructure.
