Man, 36 dies in Kano trailer explosion

 The Kano fire service says a 36-year-old man, Aminu Sulaiman, has died after a trailer exploded at Kwotago Western bye pass in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi on Monday in Kano.

Abdullahi said the incident occurred on Monday morning.

“We received a distress call at the central control room from one Alhaji Auwal at 10:02 a.m. that there is fire in Kwotago Western Bye Pass.

“Upon receiving the information, we quickly sent our team to the scene at about 10:12 a.m. to rescue the victims,” he said.

He said that on getting to the scene it was discovered that a trailer carrying drums of used engine oil and a motorcycle was gutted by fire.

“The fire spread to two dwelling houses and two uncompleted buildings around the area where the victim was trapped and was burnt to death. (NAN)
