Manchester United agrees £35m deal for Dutch-Nigerian striker, Zirkzee
Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Dutch striker of Nigerian descent, Joshua Zirkzee, from Bologna for £35m.
The fee is understood to be just over £35m (€42.5m) – above the £33.6m (€40m) release clause, however, it is in exchange for more favourable payment terms.

Personal terms have been agreed for a five-year deal and he is expected to undergo a Man Utd medical.
The 23-year-old striker has landed in Manchester to have his medicals.
He recorded 12 goals and seven assists as Bologna qualified for the Champions League this season.
Born in the Netherlands to a Dutch father and a Nigerian mother, Zirkzee was considering switching allegiance to Nigeria in order to play for the Super Eagles until the call from head coach, Ronald Koeman.

The striker graduated through Bayern Munich’s system and had spells with Parma and Anderlecht before joining Bologna in the summer of 2022.
Long-serving forward, Anthony Martial, left Old Trafford at the end of last season when his contract expired and the 23-year-old Zirkzee will now be a viable replacement.
