My developmental agenda at YUMSUK – VC

The Vice Chancellor, Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano, YUMSUK, Prof. Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa has said uplifting the university to a greater height is the priority of his administration.

Kurawa stated this on Friday when he inspected the progress of some buildings that are under construction in the university main campus.

“My administration as vice chancellor of this university is two years old, from the beginning of this tenure to date we have achieved a lot of transformations; that is why we are going round to take the record of the journey we have covered so far.”

“Within these two years there is a lot of physical infrastructural development, establishment of directorates and also establishment of a lot of academic programs.” 

“Recently under my administration the National Universities Commission (NUC), gave us approval to commence 13 new degree programs, 45 post-graduate programs and we will introduce them in our new academic season.”

He added that there are five different categories of works that are taking place at the university main campus, there are those that are supported by Kano state government, TETUND interventions, CBN interventions, philanthropists and also the university itself.

During the inspection, the vice chancellor visited the University Printing Press Unit, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanity, University Mosque, female and male hostels, Students Secretariat, and Cafeteria that are all under construction on the campus.

He also expressed satisfaction with the progress of constructions of the buildings.
