N18.7Bn Loan: Kebbi assembly summons Gov. Bagudu

Kebbi State House of Assembly has summoned the state governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu over utilization of an N18.7bn loan from the federal government.

In a letter addressed to the governor dated 26th January, 2023 and sighted by SOLACEBASE, the assembly asked the governor to appear before it on Friday, January 27th, 2023.

According to the letter , this is in line with the assembly effort to ensure prudent management of state resources .

The letter read: In view of your request for the approval to the Kebbi Satte Government to borrow funds from the federal government dated 18th October, 2021with reference no. GHBK/8/21Vol.1

‘’That the Kebbi State House of Assembly has approved the sum of Eighteen Billion, Seven Hundredand Ninety Two Naira, Fifty Seven Kobo(18,746, 059,992.57) through its resolution dated 18th October, 2021.’’

‘’In line with its effort to prudent Management of State Resources the House is requestingHis Execellency to appear before the House to explain on how and where the funds were utilize on Friday, 27th January, 2023 by 10.00am

SOLACEBASE reports that the letter signed by Suleiman Shamaki , acting Clerk to the House was titled ‘’Re: Federal Government Offer of Bridging Loan Facility.’’

The letter was attached with a signed attendance of 20 out of the 24 lawmakers of the House.
