NASENI hands over restored CNG-converted vehicles to KIRS

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) officially handed over newly restored and CNG-converted vehicles to the Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).

According to the agency, the handover marks a significant milestone in the Asset Restore Program, a partnership dedicated to refurbishing and modernizing government assets for improved efficiency and sustainability.

The event, held in Kano on Thursday, brought together key stakeholders, including representatives of NASENI and the Asset Restore team, led by Dr. Muhammad Yadudu, the program coordinator.

The Executive Chairman of KIRS, the Commissioner of Finance, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Revenue, as well as the Director General of KANGIS, were also present alongside other dignitaries.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Yadudu highlighted NASENI’s commitment to supporting government agencies with innovative solutions to enhance service delivery. He emphasized that the conversion of the vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) would not only extend their lifespan but also reduce fuel costs and environmental impact.

The Executive Chairman of KIRS, Dr. Zaid Abubakar, expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the restored vehicles would enhance revenue collection efficiency across the state. He reaffirmed KIRS’s commitment to utilizing the assets effectively to improve service delivery.

The Commissioner of Finance Dr. Ismail Aliyu DanMaraya, and other dignitaries lauded the Asset Restore Program as a model for sustainable governance, urging continued collaboration between NASENI and the Kano State Government.
