NCoS denies jail break in Kwara

The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) Kwara Command has said that there was no jailbreak at its custodial facility as reported by an online platform.

The Command Spokesman, CSC Bamigbade, in a statement issued on Monday, said: “Attention of the NCoS has been drawn to an online publication alleging that nine inmates escaped as a jailbreak rocked Kwara Custodial facility.

“It is therefore imperative to make this clarification to disabuse the minds of the public.”

Bamigbade added that, “The facility where the purported jailbreak occurred is the juvenile custodial centre owned and controlled by the Kwara State government. It is quite different from the Borstal Training Institute, Ilorin, which is the juvenile custodial facility within the jurisdiction of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
