NCoS honours Kano correctional PRO for outstanding media engagement
The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), CSC Musbahu Lawan K/Nassarawa, has been recognised for his exceptional contributions to promoting the positive image of the Service.
The award was presented during a three-day workshop for Command Public Relations Officers (CPROs), themed “Positioning the NCoS for Visibility and Public Trust,” which brought together PROs from across the federation to enhance strategic communication and public engagement.
According to a statement on Tuesday from the Kano State Command of the NCoS, CSC Musbahu Lawan’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment to effective media engagement have distinguished him among his peers nationwide.
The statement added that his efforts have “not gone unnoticed and serve as an inspiration to other Public Relations Officers in the Service.”
Addressing the gathering, the Controller-General of Corrections, CGC Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, commended the PROs for their work, stating, “Effective communication is crucial in building public confidence and enhancing the visibility of our institution.”

He encouraged them to continue highlighting the achievements of the Service to strengthen its nationwide reputation.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Tunji Ojo, through his representative, the Adviser on Correctional Service Reforms, DCC Babatunde Ogundare Esq., also applauded the PROs for their role in shaping public perception.
DCC Ogundare specifically congratulated Musbahu Lawan, noting that his “dedication, integrity, and professionalism have set a high standard for others to emulate.”
The Kano State Command has celebrated the recognition and reiterated its commitment to upholding transparency, professionalism, and service excellence across the state.
