The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano Sector Command, has officially welcomed a new Sector Commander, Corps Commander Idris Mohammed Lawal, who assumed duty on Tuesday.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CRC Abdullahi A. Labaran.

According to the statement, Commander Lawal’s appointment follows the recent retirement of his predecessor, Corps Commander MB Bature, who was commended for his outstanding service, dedication, and leadership during his tenure with the Corps.

SolaceBase reports that prior to his new role, Commander Lawal served as the Zonal Head of Operations at the FRSC Zone One Headquarters, Kaduna, where he was instrumental in coordinating traffic management and operational strategies across the zone. His deployment to Kano is seen as a strategic move by the FRSC management to bolster road safety initiatives in the state.

In his inaugural address, Commander Lawal expressed gratitude to the Corps Marshal and FRSC Management for the trust placed in him. He reaffirmed his commitment to the Corps’ mission of eliminating road traffic crashes and promoting safer driving environments across Kano State.

He also highlighted the importance of teamwork, discipline, and strong stakeholder collaboration in achieving long-term success. “Ensuring road safety is a shared responsibility. I urge all officers, marshals, and partners to work together as we strive toward safer roads for all,” he stated.

The officers and marshals of the Kano Sector Command warmly received the new Sector Commander, pledging their unwavering support and cooperation as he begins his leadership journey.
