Super Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday defeated the Lionesses of Cameroon 2-0 in an international friendly played at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade opened the scoreline in the 28th minute from the penalty spot after being brought down by a Cameroonian defender.
In the 43rd minute, Ajibade scored again through an assist from the left flank by Babajide Omorinsola to record a brace.
The Cameroonians fought hard in the second half but were prevented from scoring by the solid defence marshalled by the duo of Payne Antoinette and Isah Sikiratu.

Speaking at the post-match news conference, Justin Madugu, Coach of the Super Falcons, appreciated the players for their performance.
Madugu said that the team still has a lot of work to do, saying that the lionesses were also a good team.
” I appreciate the players for the performance. It is still a work in progress to our preparation.
” We would have appreciated the opportunity of playing more friendly matches. We have to make do with what we have and get the girls prepared.
” We must not make excuses. We must make Nigerians happy,” he said.
Also speaking, the super falcons captain , Ajibade appreciated God for injury free match.
” It is an honour to have scored two goals. The supporters too were fantastic,” she said. (NAN)
