Nigerian Academy of Education confers fellowship on KHAIRUN VC

The Vice-Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), Professor Abdulrashid Garba, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Nigerian Academy of Education (NAE).

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Bilal Dahiru Tijjani, Acting Director, Corporate Affairs and Marketing, on behalf of the university’s management, on Thursday.

The statement noted that the honour, which was conferred during the Academy’s annual congress on Wednesday, recognised Professor Garba’s outstanding contributions to the development of education in Nigeria, his remarkable scholarship, and his exemplary leadership in the academic community.

The conferment of Fellowship represents one of the highest professional honours for educators in the country.

According to the statement, Professor Garba, an erudite scholar, seasoned administrator, and reform-minded educationist, has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and educational advancement.

Under his visionary leadership, KHAIRUN has continued to evolve as a centre of functional learning and character development.

It added that Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), guided by its motto “Functional Education is Light,” is committed to promoting quality education, research, and community service.

“The university strives to produce graduates equipped with practical knowledge and strong moral values for national development,” the statement added.

The entire KHAIRUN community—comprising the Senate, management, staff, and students—has congratulated Professor Garba on this well-deserved recognition, describing it as a source of pride and inspiration.
